Writing Letters to Editors
You can submit letters to all of the following papers. These are ALL critical to make sure that each specific message is spread as far as possible.
- Be sure to ICC info and docket 12-0560.
- Make sure to give a brief summary of Rock Island Clean Line (RICL).
- Limit your letter to about 250 words - most newspapers reserve the right to edit for length.
- Be brief, to the point and try to avoid sarcasm or verbal attacks.
- The tone of your letter may determine whether it is published.
- Try to make your point as quickly and concisely, using facts or figures to back up your position.
- Follow up with ways the reader can help or people they might contact.
- Include your name, address, email and phone number.
