1. NOTICE TO DENY RIGHT-OF-WAY FORM:

• Complete, COPY, and mail to Kathryn Patton. Certified would help!

2. CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES:

• At the Township, County, State, and National levels!
• SEND IN YOUR LETTERS TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES! Follow up with phone calls!
• Make multiple copies of the letter with “RE: RICL” and fill in the names and addresses of the representatives. Mail to multiple offices for each!! Registered is not necessary, but does make a difference! Personalize your letters with an added note at the bottom.

3. ICC (Illinois Commerce Commission):

• ICC Letter - Addressed to Judge Jones
• Complete, COPY, and mail to the ICC
• Call or send personalized comments to the ICC
• Remember that “not in my backyard comments” are not the most powerful. Focus on
  the lack of merit in the project. See the Block RICL Information Sheet for ideas.

4. ROCK ISLAND CLEAN LINE COMMENT FORM:

• Complete, check all boxes that apply, COPY, and mail to RICL c/o HDR.

5. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:

• Write Letters to the Editor of your local paper.
• Follow up by emailing or sending the letter to ALL the papers on the list! Letters do not have to be long or complicated. For ideas or help, feel free to call or email!

6. HELP SPREAD THE WORD:

• Find your neighbors and the elderly who are uninformed. Complete Right-to-Deny forms!
• Organize a fast and effective local communication system. We need to BE READY TO SPREAD THE WORD FAST WHEN RICL changes the ICC docket number and submits the proposed routes.

7. WE WILL NEED TO FLOOD THE ICC WITH COMMENTS!!

A. Arrange with your local leaders to:

• Initial all parcels on the township maps that you own, rent or represent.
• Add your name to the corresponding TOWNSHIP lists!
• Sign petition going to the ICC (Illinois Commerce Commission) and Representatives.

B. Talk with other people from your local area.

• Set up a communication network.
• Form a plan to reach the elderly and neighbors who have not heard about RICL.
• Pick up extra forms and letters to distribute to friends and neighbors.
